Richard looted the island and massacred those trying to resist him. He and most of his army left Cyprus for the Holy Land in June 1191. Richard the Lionheart reign as King of England was reflected in Steven Runciman's final verdict of Richard I: "He was a bad son, a bad husband and a bad king, but a gallant and splendid soldier." .........................This Armour is very high quality and beautifully made from 18 gauge Toledo steel and then highly polished.
