He sees many colours and his first thought when meeting someone for the first time is 'would he/she be a good subject for a portrait?'

About the Artist - Brad Dillon

 

Brad Dillon was born in Salford, Manchester, where he attended Salford Grammar school then Manchester school of Art. My first commercial venture into the art world at age 14 was painting two pictures of greyhounds for a bookmakers window in 1973. I was paid £5. Fast forward 31 years and I have taken up drawing and painting nudes from life at the St Ives school of painting. I launch myself on to numerous courses they have on offer with obscure names like 'discovering the head'. I now find myself seeing the world in varying shades of light and dark. I see many colours and when I meet someone for the first time my first thought is 'would he/she be a good subject for a portrait?'
