John Silver's major influences being Rembrandt, Da Vinci, Titian, Caravaggio, Vermeer, Poussin and many others. He also very much admires the canine art of artists such as Maud Earl, Arthur Wardle, John Emms etc.

John has been painting professionally for over 25 years, undertaking regular portrait commissions for private clients and producing artworks for art gallery exhibitions. He works mainly with Oil paints on canvas.

 

Born 1959 in Macclesfield Cheshire. United Kingdom.

Thankfully, I am considered to be one of the UK’s leading contemporary Canine, Fantasy and figurative artists, working predominantly in Oils.

 

John Siver's paintings are in many private collections Worldwide, including celebrities and Royalty.
He also has the great honour of being in the art history books, by being the only living artist to have work permanently hanging in the prestigious gallery of the Kennel Club in London. John's work is hanging alongside the likes of Sir edwin Landseer, Maud Earl, Arthur Wardle etc.

Many of his works being produced as both Limited Edition and Open Edition prints by some of the leading art publishers.

John Siver paints using two basic styles, one of detailed realism and my other more loose contemporary art style.

His main categories of paintings (and commissions), being Figurative art and portraiture, Canine & Equestrian art, landscape and fantasy. 

John Siver now lives and works in Shropshire UK.
